Awake, O harp and lyre!

I will awaken the dawn

-Psalm 108:2

Foundations of the Movement

Throughout scripture, God chose to reveal Himself in the midst of worship and prayer. From the worship movement of King David with thousands of full-time musicians, to the temple in Jerusalem, to the room-shaking prayer meetings surrounding the day of Pentecost, God’s personal Presence has always been central to His purposes in the earth. The records of moves of God throughout history also attest to the truth of this principle. Nearly every great move of God can be traced back to a people that made prayer and worship central in their lives and communities. The Biblical precedent is that God’s Presence is central to His plan to bring change and transformation to people and cultures. We are convinced that this precedent has stood the test of time. Even right now, as you read this, ceaseless songs and prayers are rising before His throne in heaven. God dwells in the praises of His people!

At the Awaken the Dawn Missions Base in Fredericksburg Virginia, we have sought to make His Presence central in our lives and ministry.

As we have done this, we have seen a miraculous storyline unfold in our midst and we believe we are only seeing the beginnings of a massive movement of prayer, worship, and gospel proclamation.

History of the Movement

During the feast of Tabernacles in 2017, we hosted Awaken the Dawn on the National Mall in Washington D.C. It was nothing short of amazing! On the weekend of October 6-9th, close to 50,000 people and 1,700  worship teams from all 50 states offered up 2,850 combined hours of worship and prayer in 58 tents around the clock for three days on our National Mall! Throughout that week- end, nearly 4 million people across the globe participated and heard the gospel LIVE via live streaming! There was a shift in our Nation’s Capital, prayer movements were birthed, prayers were answered, people were healed, hundreds were saved – and thousands of lives were impacted and forever changed. But the event in Washington was never meant to be the endgame, but a staging ground and beginning of a new Jesus Movement in this generation!

On the heels of Awaken the Dawn 2017, Tent America 2018 was launched. During September 27-29, 2018, once again coinciding with the Feast of Tabernacles, ground-teams from across the nation hosted ‘tent city’ gatherings of worship, music, prayer, and gospel proclamation – simultaneously in all 50 state capital cities, including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico and on 101 college and university campus es! For fifty consecutive hours, day and night, public outdoor worship flooded our nation as the proclamation of the Gospel went forth!

In 2019, we made Tent America available to ‘anyone, anywhere’ who wanted to host a tent of public worship and prayer during the feast of Tabernacles. When we opened it to more than just capitol cities and campuses, we got a feeling for the viral potential of this movement. There were over 400 tent registrations and many other locations participating from overseas!

The shakings that came in 2020 have only strengthened our conviction that public expressions of worship, prayer, and gospel proclamation are key to the move of the Holy Spirit in our cities and nation.

With the launch of Living Room Revival, we met the spring lockdown with a different sort of public expression of worship and prayer: social media live-streaming. Families and small groups took 1 hour time slots to worship and pray, day and night, live on social media right from their living rooms!

Following Living Room Revival in the Spring of 2020, Tent America launched in June 2020. Rather than 50 hours of simultaneous worship and prayer during the feast of Tabernacles, Tent America 2020 launched 100 days – with the ‘torch’ of worship and prayer being passed from tent to tent over the duration of the 100 days – and culminating in strategic prayer gatherings in Kansas City and in Washington DC during the feast of Tabernacles.

Future of the Movement

Thanks to God and to your generosity, we have now purchased a massive, 3,000 person tent! In the coming years we plan to take this tent to strategic cities for joyous festivals of worship, prayer, evangelism, and relationship. We are planning to continue Tent America with a viral tent movement of worship, prayer, and gospel proclamation on hundreds–even thousands–of cities and campuses. We are on a journey to return to the National Mall in a celebration of all God has done, believing He is launching a new season of Awakening in America and the nations!

What would happen if God’s personal Presence was made central in the cities, towns, campuses, and universities of our nation?

Join us in the movement.

Let’s see the worth of Jesus go viral.
